Toeing the Line! Rev 3 Florida Half

I swear I still love blogging.  I think about new posts all the time but somehow my telepathic abilities to the keyboard seem to be slacking.  If I could find a way to get the computer on the trainer I know we would have better success!

Anyway, I've been missing my blog and I'm very thankful to have a second before Rev 3 Florida Half to update it!  Things have been going VERY well with training and have me super excited about the end of the year.  Two more races, two more chances to learn how to compete in this pro filed to close out my rookie year.  I'm very thankful for the places I've been this year and all of the new experiences and people that I've had a chance to meet.  This week I flew down to my Mom's house in Ormond Beach on Monday evening and then spent the week training until we finally headed over the Venice Beach on Friday (yesterday).
I knew this race was going to be a bigger field of pro women who were very competitive in trying to close out the Rev 3 Series strong and I am excited to be in the mix (hopefully!).  The weather was looking perfect for a great day (maybe even a PR day) until about Thursday when Sandy decided to come to town.  The winds picked up at my Mother's home in Ormond and I was hoping that they wouldn't be as strong over here on the West Coast but no such luck!  They are VERY strong and the practice swim this morning was cancelled which was a bummer since I can always use a bit of help making sure I go the correct way :)

We showed up at the no-go swim to say hi to Charlie, the founder of Rev 3, and long enough to scare my Mother half to death.  She is NOT excited about this whole me swimming in a big current / rip tide thing if we swim tomorrow.  At the pro meeting they let us know that the final verdict would be tomorrow morning on the swim, but if we didn't we would be doing a time trial start on the bike.

So windy you have to hold your hair to take a picture!
The race site is beautiful but man I ate a lot of sand this morning just standing around!

I hope everyone is being smart as this is supposed to move right up the coast and will actually hit PA just about the time I am trying to come home on Monday.  Great :)

I'm excited about tomorrow and feeling good.  I don't have any reason not to go out there, execute my plan and do my very best.  I try not to think about certain places or times but hopefully I will be with other girls who will push me to a good performance for me and however it shakes out is just fine!  Best of luck to everyone racing this weekend - Miami 70.3 (FYP athlete Stefano from Spain!!), Austin 70.3 (Go Beth!) and everyone else!!

This was just a funny picture of Kyle and I from my good friend Anna's wedding.  She was simply stunning and her and her new husband Brian had this incredible idea to do funny pictures.  It was a great time and really made for some interesting photos when the evening was over.
Thanks to Emerson from Top Gear who glued my tires on in record time and got me ready to race this weekend!!  I appreciate your help so much!!  You rock!!  The Green Machine is running like a dream!!

Here's to safe conditions and a spectacular day tomorrow!  Anything can happen - you just have to believe!

Good luck Kim. Sounds like the conditions will be tough. You are strong though, so I bet that will be a benefit to you.

May still be a hard day though.

Do your best. :)
