"Pumped Up" - NormaTec Boots & My Personal Playlist!

First, get pumped up with these - NormaTec Recovery Boots!

It has been an amazing blessing to be part of the QT2 Elite Tri Team this year (who is supported by a relationship with NormaTec).  My coach, Jesse, will often tell you that the difference between each of our training as professionals in the sport is actually very insignificant (basically, we are all doing just about the same thing in training).  The real difference comes in how seriously we take recovery and what methods we use to be ready to execute great workouts day in and day out.

I have had my eye on these NormaTec Boots for at least a year now!  Some of you are wondering what the heck could possibly be so great able big black boots that fill with air and looks funny.  Well, allow me to explain (or rather, the NormaTec website to explain):

"Sequential Pulse Technology is based on normal physiology, and it synergistically combines three distinctive massage techniques to speed the body's normal recovery process."

In essence, when the boots are filled with air the compression increases blow flow and the pulsing technology move other fluids and waste products around allows you to speed the recovery process.  I don't know much about that, but I know they feel AWESOME when they are on my legs. I also know I do feel better when I wear them for even 20 minutes after a harder workout or up to 60 minutes after an easier workout day.  There are different settings in terms of the level of compression (1-10) and the time is also determined by the user (10-60 mins).

The other really neat thing is that they are actually great to travel with as well!  They are not bulky at all.  Once the air is out they fold rather flat and I can put into a bag and pack them into a suitcase easily if I have about 14 inches long x 3 inches deep.  I just traveled to Florida for Rev 3 and packed the boots and air hoses in plastic transition bag and took the electronic pump portion in my carry-on to protect it from any banging around in the cargo area.

All in all, they totally pump me up and get me ready for the next session and I am unbelievably impressed with this company and this product.
Total Thumbs Up NormaTec

The next thing to pump you up to get out an nail that next workout.... MUSIC!

Here's a list of my current favorites from my MP3 player.  Please keep in mind some of these may have a bit of language if you don't purchase the non-explicit version (which I usually do because I don't need to be hearing that stuff).

I am obsessed with music.  Just ask the people I train with on a long T-runs.  I will be running with one earbud in and then the other open to be able to chat.  Music just changes my entire mood and makes me so excited to get out there and do what I love.  It can change my attitude in an instant!  When the intervals get tough, good music that speaks to you is a must!

Hopefully, you will enjoy this playlist and do let me know if you like any of these songs once you get them downloaded from Amazon (what I use) or Itunes!  Now get out there!!

Thanks! My playlist needed a bit of a refresher... I downloaded a bunch of those songs this afternoon and I'm sure I'll think of you as I'm listening to them. :)))

Also wanted to let you know that I appreciated your FB post the other day about how much time you spent tediously building your fitness with the low HR running... I KNOW that stuff works but it can be so monotonous going through it all again... I'm putting myself through it again right now and reading your post reminded me to stay the course and that in a few months I'll be able to kill it again... :) So anyway, thanks!
